YELLOWSTONE TO YUKON
In the summer of 1993 Wayne hosted conservationist and visionary Harvey Locke in a mountain camp on the slopes of the Caribou Range. That night, inspired by the landscape, Harvey presented Wayne with an idea: to attempt to conserve the ecological integrity of the entire Rocky Mountain ecosystem from Yellowstone to Yukon. From that day in 1993, Y2Y has grown into an international North American organization, with over eight hundred member groups. The organization educates and networks with local community groups, helping them develop responsible stewardship practices. The goal is to sustain protective wildlife cores and continuous wildlife corridors throughout the mountain range. Inspired by this vision, Wayne was a founding Board member of the Y2Y organization, where he served for more than a decade.
